so i re-made all the gifs on my site to try and assure 25fps. the site lets you speed up and slow down the gif but i'm not sure how they go about that. to speed and slow the rotation you can extend the rendering time. so either don't upload it or skip it on their site. keyshot seems to add one extra frame at the end. if you render at 25fps that match the delay time of 4 on their site. Yes easygif is the site i have been using. i haven't seen that they changed anything much since then. maybe down the line i'll try the latest version of keyshot and see if it will run on a laptop. i definitely prefer keyshot 6.3 a lot better. Update i tried the latest version of simlab composer. one reason i enjoy the moi forum so much. so i appreciate your posts in these regards. i saw someone complain about your posts regarding new software to try. i appreciate all the suggestions.įrenchy. it would have been nicer if they integrated some kind of gpu support though. i did see they have a new ability to utilized the free amd rendering engine. i have been seeing people complain of the same issues. it still seems like smilab refuses to add any non-realistic rendering options. i have been reading the simlab documentation and forum posts. i was able to switch from keyshot to simlab. trying to switch from keyshot to blender was impossible for me. so i don't want something that is a rhino plugin. i want to switch from rhino v5 to moi v4. you can find them on my website there are various toons when i just want a fast render. To give an idea of the type of simple renderings i'm talking about. with keyshot 6.3 i have been outputting png files and using a website to take those and make the gif. ideally if it output gif that would be fantastic. the main thing is just a few seconds per frame on a 400x400 pixel image. even simple clay like or color like stuff. i don't know if they have any materials that will render fast. so it wasn't possible to do the animations i needed. those take a long time to solve on my laptop per frame. but when i tried it out a few years ago it could only do 'realistic' renderings. anyways, simlab composer pro seems to fit the bill. not complicated animations like for movies. so i have some where the part rotates 360 about it's axis and then the camera rotates about the object in 360 as well. so i should have said i also need a standalone gui. they seemed to only work in certain apps.

however, there were a few problems with some. The toon material in Keyshot renders almost instantaneously. I can't do the animations when each frame takes an hour to render. However, does anyone know if they have materials that render fast. I'm not sure if you can export images or a gif out of it.Įdit I looked around some more and it seems like SimLab Composer is the closest. It show dragging a part, in a video I saw online. But it's not clear how the animation function works. I hate to be stuck with software from the stone age. Does anyone know of something that has these features. I know there is Simlab Composer, but the last time I tried it, it didn't have the toon material. I can't seem to find anything with all those features. I don't want something that only runs on a gpu. Keyshot has a few things I like ease of use, toon materials, simple animation, runs on a laptop cpu. They are up to version 9 now but I have not tried anything past 7.

I wasn't able to upgrade to version 7, because the new gui wouldn't work on my laptop. fbx).I have been using Keyshot 6.3 for a long time. Rhino 6 is good/best for 3D modeling and exporting in various formats (my favs being. dwg file format (usually, but sometimes other formats it has).

So, between my own experience and not-so-great comments in Rhino 6’s level 2 training mats, I feel ViaCAD should be used by everyone for 2D drafting and exporting in. ViaCAD gets it perfect, always (don’t ask me how I’m not a programmer). Rhino 6 is superior and best for 3D modeling for sure! But, when it comes to 2D drafting, I like ViaCAD best and it really only beats out Rhino 6 in this type of design work because of imperfect exports of DWG files. I forget the exact model I saw this happen on, but just generally remember that sometimes, often enough, Rhino 6 cannot draw 2D drafts up error free, like ViaCAD can and does. Rhino 6 exports with errors in accuracy for some odd reason. It works error free for 2D drafting and exporting to. ViaCAD, versions 9, 10, or 11 can do this best out of any CAD program. This is where it says this, among other things: “For example, you will have to consider which view to consider the most accurate for a given feature.” This is admitted indirectly (mostly) in Rhino 6 level 2 training materials here: Make a model from a 2‑D drawing (section, within this chapter). Rhino 6 admits that it cannot… or has problems with 2D drafting… at least, in.
